PGSL Summer Pitching Clinic Begins Monday, July 30th!

The Parkway Girls Softball League will offer a four week Summer Pitching Clinic for any player interested in developing this very specialized skill. The clinic will focus on beginning and intermediate level players, but will also provide instruction and drills for more experienced pitchers. The instructor will be Kristin McDermott. Kristen has led PGSL Summer, Winter and Spring Pitching Clinics in recent years.  She studied for many years under Janelle Carlson, and was a successful varsity pitcher for Mount Alvernia High School.  She was the Assistant Varsity coach at her alma mater during the 2018 season.  Here are the clinic's details:

Instructor: Kristin McDermott
Dates: Mondays: July 30th, August 6th, August 13th, and August 20th (four weeks)
Times: 6pm-7pm
Location: Hynes Field, West Roxbury
Cost: $40

Because space is limited, This clinic is being offered on a first come, first served basis.  When registering, please provide your Pitching experience.  Please contact Mark Batte at   if you have any questions.

Please Note:  Each pitcher is required to provide their own catcher (parent / responsible friend or sibling) for each session.

Thank you,

PGSL Board of Directors

2018 Fall Ball Registration is Open!

The Parkway Girls Softball League is participating in the 2018 Charles River Softball League Fall Ball season.  Fall Ball consists of teams in the U10, U12, U14, and U18 divisions.  The games are competitive, but in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.  It is a good opportunity for players to get extra game experience.

The Fall Ball season will consist of games on the Sundays of September 9, 16, 23, 30 and October 14 and 21 (No games on Columbus Day Weekend).  The U10, U12, and U14 teams will play double headers beginning at 9am, with the second game concluding around 12:30pm.  The U18 team’s games will be nine innings, and begin at 10am.  Games will be played in West Roxbury and in other surrounding towns that participate in the league, such as Newton, Westwood and Norwood.

Registration will be based on the following birth years

U10     Birth Years 2007-2009

U12     Birth Years 2005-2006

U14     Birth Years 2003-2004

U18     Birth Years 2000-2002

Please register for the correct team based your daughter's birth year.  The registration fee for Fall Ball is $50 and can be paid by sending a check via the mail or credit card on the PGSL website.  Registration for each division will be limited to the first 15 players that sign up, additional players will be placed on a waiting list.  We will have a second team in each division if there is enough interest and available coaches.  There will be no tryouts or cuts.

We are also looking for parents that are interested in coaching the teams. Please send an email to   if you are interested.  We hope to have a head coach for each team, with multiple assistants.  The responsibilities of the head coach include communicating the schedule to your team, ensuring you have enough players each week, bringing the equipment to the game, making the line up and reporting the scores.  You can practice as much or a little as your schedule and your team's interest allows.

Thank you,

PGSL Board of Directors
